App design Coming soon
iOS and Android products are on the roadmap. Today we focus on the web, where we can design and ship the whole thing ourselves.
Web design
Marketing sites and web apps that load fast, read clearly, and convert without tricks.
Design systems
Tokens, components, and documentation your engineers will actually use, built in Figma and code together.
Online stores
Shopify or a custom checkout, product pages that sell, and a back office your team can run without calling us.
Front-end build
Production React or Next.js from our own designs, so nothing gets lost between the file and the browser.
Care plans
Hosting, updates, and small changes handled for a flat monthly fee, so the site stays fast and current after launch.
Small team, short cycles, weekly demos.
Discover
Workshops with your team, interviews with your users, and a scoped plan you can hold us to.
Design
Flows, prototypes, and visual design in weekly rounds. You see everything as it happens.

A small studio that does the whole job.
Northcut is a design and build studio for small businesses. We started because most local business sites are either a $200 template that looks like everyone else's or a $20,000 agency project that takes four months. There is a lot of room in between.
Because we design and code in-house, there is no handoff, no project manager in the middle, and no telephone game between the person who drew your site and the person who built it. You talk to the people doing the work.
We keep the client list short on purpose. A few projects at a time means your site gets attention, not a queue number.
Questions we get a lot.
How long does a website take?
A Starter site is usually live within a week of getting your content. Standard sites take two to three weeks. Custom projects depend on scope, and we give you a date before we start.
Do I need to write the content myself?
No. Send us whatever you have, even rough notes or an old brochure, and we will shape it into page copy. You review and approve everything before launch.
Who owns the website when it is done?
You do. The domain is registered in your name, the hosting account is yours, and we hand over all the files at launch. If you ever want to move it elsewhere, you can.
What if I need changes after launch?
The first 30 days are covered. After that, small edits are $60 an hour, or included in the $75 a month care plan.
Can you work with my existing site?
Yes. We can redesign it, keep the content and address structure so your search rankings stay put, and move it to faster hosting.
Do you build mobile apps?
Not yet. Native iOS and Android apps are on our roadmap. In the meantime we build web apps that work well on phones and can be added to a home screen.
How do payments work?
Half of the quote to start, the other half when the site goes live. Card or bank transfer, invoice provided.
